Poppets and Allo Darlin' at the Club

The super nice and awesome Poppets and Allo Darlin' played for our new night The Kids At The Club! Allo Darlin' were as charming and fun as ever. Singer Elizabeth just has this amazing glow of happiness around her which brings smiles to the grumpiest of people. Our mate J has a video here.

The Poppets were a super fun surprise. First time we've seen them and they were awesome! A 20 minute set which made us want to start a band. Don't forget the mixtape they put together for us.

Some cool news to announce! This Friday brings the premier of a spanking new club at Debaser Malmö. The Kids At The Club is the new night we're involved with where we book our favourite DJs and bands and party 'til we drop to great music from soul to punk and ska to indie with as many girl bands as boy bands both on the stage and on the dancefloor. We're very excited and plan to bring over as many fun bands as we possibly can this coming year. There's a Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook Page and our first event is with the amazing Allo Darlin' playing. One of our favourite band of last year with their amazing self-titled record on Fortuna Pop!

Too Cute To Puke, the female fronted version of So Tough! So Cute! is back at our favourite local Tempo Bar & Kök on Friday! Like the last time we'll be playing female-fronted Punk, Indie Pop, Riot Grrl, Post-Punk, DIY as well as '60s Surf, Ska and Girl-groups.

If you're in a girl-fronted band, preferably self-releasing or on an independent label, we'd love to hear it so send us an email with your track and we'll try and play it on future nights. Cassettes and 7" records also welcome, email us for an address.

Freya from one of our favourite London bands La La Vasquez has kindly put together a great sounding mixtape for us featuring, well, almost an all girl line-up. We may actually nick a couple of these and play them on Friday.

Their next show is at the Pheromoans release party on the 26th of February and an upcoming France tour is planned (and yes, we're going to try everything we can to get them to come play in Sweden). We've probably seen the girls play at least five or sex times now and they keep impressing us every single time so you really should join us up front at the show.

La La Vasquez have just released their second 7" on M'lady's Records and if you live in the UK you can get it at twingrrlrecords.bigcartel.com or from mladysrecords.com. Mixtape: Last Night We Left The Party Early

Heya, here's a mix for people who leave the party early to go home and listen to their own records instead. Nothing worse than being stuck in a room with crap beer, crap company and even crappier music right? We only need our box of records, a packet of crisps and a couple of Southern Tiers IPA and we're good.

Two great new Swedish bands: Tiger Tape, formerly Moofish Catfish, who released the sweet album I Woke Up In Hökarängen and The Andersen Tapes which is Amanda of Free Loan Investments new thing. We kinda missed that old school Swedish twee punk sound so it's great to hear these two bands.

Soft Targets is an awesome new track by Pheromoans that is due out on slabs of vinyl. The slab of vinyl will be called It Still Rankles. Release party February 26th in London. Easily one of our most anticipated albums of this year. We just received their cover flexi of Shark Fucks and Government Center out on Scotch Tapes and it's so good.

New tracks by Ale Mania, Dum Dum Girls, Babies, Vivian Girls, Bass Drum Of Death, all coming out soon. The Notes, Moonhearts and Demon's Claws should of course have been on our favourite tracks of 2010 list but, yeah, we screwed up. We do that sometimes. It's ok.

Two amazing covers - Jake Jones of Christmas does a stunning version of Beat Happenings 'Our Secret' (Somebody please release this on vinyl!) and So Cow covers the Nerves on a upcoming Nerves tribute compilation on Volar which also features Grass Widow, Reading Rainbow, Hunx And His Punx, Davila 666 and a few more. Basically all the bands that took over our decks these last two years.

The Sediment Club sound like we wanted The Sexual Objects to sound: Angular and Fire Engineny. Friendo we absolutely adore and they have a split 7" with Women, Cold Pumas and Fair-Ohs out on Faux Discx.

The pop punk gem that is Sea Pinks (Neil of Girls Names) have a 12" out on CF Records  (with the superb Peripheral Vision). Really looking forward to hearing the Youth Is Wasted cassette when we get it.

Darlings Fergus & Geronimo finally have a LP out after some truly great 7" singles but it was kinda uneven. Love 'The World Never Stops' though, so good.

And to finish it off we've thrown in a couple of punk and lo-fi indie pop tracks, booty dance inducing Heavy Times, great tracks by Gun Outfit and Spider & The Webs and a french dude. Hope you like it, and if you do please support the bands.

Oh almost forgot! We really love the fuzzy and lo-fi track 'Sleeping Bag' by Seacat that was on a cassette compilation out on Slampt. Does anybody know more about this band?
