Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard

We love Crass, comics and songs about broken hearts and today, on a hot and sunny afternoon, we got all three nicely packed in one Mr Jeffrey Lewis at the Brixton Windmill. Our first time seeing him and whilst it tended to rawk out a couple of times it was a rather lovely gig. We managed to capture a few videos. Note that the two brothers are wearing matching Herman Düne T-shirts <3

So Tough! So Cute! at Debaser Malmö on Friday June 4th

We're very excited to return to Debaser Malmö. We've been away for half a year, the last gig we did in Sweden was when we put on Camera Obscura, but now we return with a bang bringing the adorable Shrag with us. It's going to be a night filled with the best in indiepop, northern soul and stuff that makes your heart go Pop!

Live:
SHRAG play shouty post-punky pop made for smearing out your lipstick to whilst making out and then running back on the dancfloor to madly dance and pogo before feeling somebody up and inviting them home for a cup of 'tea'. Musically we'd sort them in beside Love Is All, Au Pairs and Elastica. And. They have a song called Mark E. Smith.

CHOCOLATE BARRY
After a much needed rest in, what we assumed was a small northern Italian village but now turns out to be Milano (or maybe Liverpool), Chocolate Barry and his company of merry men and girl are back with their Monochrome Set and él records sounding pop. Their Baby Honey gig in London had a Velocity Girl cover. Can we set our hopes on an Emmas House cover this time?

DJs
On the main dancefloor So Tough! So Cute! will play songs for boys and girls who aren't scared to dance and know how it feels to be loved.
Dansmusen will be playing lots of new rare finds outside
Free before 22 Club and bands on between 22-03. Open from 15

27th May. So Tough! So Cute! Club night in Stoke Newington

We just can't get enough of dancing and pogoing to our favourite records so we're throwing a So Tough! So Cute! dance party at the lovely new venue the Drop on Stoke Newington High Street. Start the weekend a day early with us and come dance to lots of indiepop, 'twee', Swedish indie, sixties soul, girl-groups and post-punk. We play sing-along heartracing fists-in-the-sky pop songs and make out with someone we probably shouldn't make out with. Fringes, polkadot dresses and dancing around hand bags is encouraged. You too girls.
